Boils Treatment
A boil (also called a furuncle) is a painful, pus-filled skin infection that usually develops when bacteria, most commonly Staphylococcus aureus, infect a hair follicle or oil gland. Boils can occur anywhere on the body but are most common on the face, neck, armpits, buttocks, and thighs.
Symptoms
Red, tender lump on the skin
Swelling and warmth around the area
Pain that increases as the boil grows
Pus-filled center ("head")
Possible fever or swollen lymph nodes if the infection is severe
